Title: Diseño de un plan estratégico para la inclusión de la modalidad semipresencial en el Ciclo de Técnico Superior en Higiene Bucodental en el Principado de Asturias

Abstract: Distance Vocational Training (FPaD) based on e-learning guarantees the acquisition of professional competences in a similar or superior way to face-to-face modalities and shows benefits for students in terms of flexibility, conciliation and motivation, as well as increasing the target public and social inclusion within institutions. In spite of this, the public educational offer of FPaD for the degrees of the health branch in the Principality of Asturias is scarce and, in the case of the Higher Technician in Oral Hygiene (TSHB), non-existent. This situation can be a barrier to access for people living in remote and rural areas, as well as for those population groups that demand greater flexibility due to their economic, personal and/or work situation. This work arises as a response to the needs detected and proposes a strategic plan for the introduction and management of the blended mode of the TSHB of the IES La Quintana of the Principality of Asturias, focusing on the collaborating private dental clinics as a key stakeholder of the strategy for its potential to enrich the curriculum and reduce investment in space and resources, in addition to opening a possibility for the development of the cycle in blended-dual mode. The Plan designed includes a detailed list of the actions and actors involved, the audit of resources needed, the implementation schedule of the different phases, a description of the technopedagogical characteristics of the future curriculum and an evaluation that, in addition to leading to continuous improvement, could contribute to the research of mixed modalities in VET and to the identification of the factors that explain the differences in results between these and face-to-face modalities.
