Title: El posthumanisme a ‘Canto jo i la muntanya balla’ d’Irene Solà
Author: Ayala Solà, Anaïs
Tutor: Núñez, Francesc
Abstract: Technoscientific progress, the current ecological crisis and socioeconomic inequalities throughout the planet place us in a context in which the legacy of the Enlightenment is being rethought. Posthumanist thought is articulated at this juncture. In order to approach this philosophy, which is located both in the present and in a future reality, literature becomes a very useful and intelligible field to think beyond anthropocentric and humanist discourses. For this reason, this paper proposes to analyze the post-anthropocentric novel Canto yo y la montaña baila by Irene Solà from the posthumanism proposed by the philosopher Rosi Braidotti. Through the analysis we will try to answer several questions. First, can Irene Solà's book be considered a posthumanist literary work? To what extent does the novel break with the precepts of the humanist tradition? How does postanthropocentrism, the unfamiliarization with rationalist discourses and the non-linearity of posthuman time operate in the plot and the characters? In this paper we will try to answer these questions and elucidate how the fading of the dualisms and precepts of humanism affect the concepts of time, space, being and knowledge.
