Abstract: Account of what happened in Ascó whit the Moors in the district of the Command of the Order of the Hospital, depending on the Castellania de Amposta, because of the general expulsion ordered of the Catalans in 1610. Initially, we will refer to the economic importance of the aljama and the town of Ascó during the Middle Ages and how Ascó began a conversion process at the beginning of the 16th century before it was compulsory. We will see how with the news of an expulsion, the mayors of the universities of Ascó, Miravet and Benissanet, send a letter glossing their virtues as Christians. The Castilian of Amposta Fray Martin Melo, when complaining that he was in debt and could not pay taxes because of the expulsion, at the same time, was writing letters to the King so that those who remained were expelled as well.
