Title: Criminología verde y los incendios forestales: prevención social del delito de incendio
Author: Casademont Colomer, Lourdes
Tutor: Ruiz Arias, Miriam
Abstract: This work aims to contribute to the normal discussion and study of the crime of fire, and of wildfires and the causes that originate them, from a criminological approach, as well as a treatment of this phenomenon from Green Criminology. It deals with the crime of wildfire and the own problem of wildfires, like a phenomenon 'in crescendo' as a result of climate change and a threat to the environment, biodiversity and ecosystems. It analyzes what are the causes that originate wildfires and in what percentage are due to negligence or intentionality. It delves into the casuistry of the origin of the fires as a key element to reduce their incidence from their genesis and adds also a brief approach to the psychosocial profile of the forest arsonist, as well as the types of intervention and treatment that are carried out. Finally, the bases are established on which to work to implement effective wildfires prevention programs through the causes that originate them and the need to develop effective social fire crime prevention policies.
