Title: Empoderament estructural d’un equip de desenvolupadors de software d’automatització industrial amb Scrum

Abstract: The industrial automation engineering company AMIDA4 experiences at the end of the pandemic an increase in orders that puts them at the limit of their capacity. They understand that must improve the efficiency of their team of industrial automation software developers or OT (Operational Technology) and to deal with the changes and uncertainties of the current industrial production context. From the internal consultancy of the company, we propose to evaluate if the empowerment of the team of developers through the establishment of the methodology Scrum can positively transform the team to face the current circumstances. We have found empowering practices such as teamwork, facilitating leadership or new forms of work, distributed in what we call a space of empowerment determined by: access to information, access to resources, access to support and access to opportunities. We have built a questionnaire based on these practices that we have administered to the six members of the current team, thus evaluating the quality of this space. The results of the questionnaire show us certain shortcomings: difficulty adapting to changes in project specifications and technologies, monitoring and communication with the client and also of guidance. We verify that the Scrum methodology comes to cover these deficiencies by offering adaptive management to face changes, a frequent inspection to detect deviations and an agile methodology to respond to the lack of guidance. Finally, we propose a roadmap and a timeline for the implementation of Scrum
