Title: Red sensores multiservicio LPWAN, LoRa, LoRaWAN, TTN y MQTT

Abstract: In this project, we will propose and study a solution for wide area sensor networks (LPWAN), which are characterised by spontaneous emissions of little data (they do not transmit images, audio or video). First, the different LPWAN technologies will be studied and purchased, the LoRa and LoRaWAN technologies will be further explored, their characteristics and the necessary infrastructure will be discussed. Second, it is expected that this network will support multiple services or clients, so we will think about lightweight and subscription-based network protocols such as Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT). Therefore, these protocols will be studied and further developed. Third, a prototype of a network will be developed, based on a sensor that will exploit LoRaWAN gateways of two types: a public network such as The Things Network (TTN) and private gateways. In addition, the network will support at least four services via MQTT-style protocols. With all this, the different communication parameters in this type of networks will be tested, validated and measured. Fourth, the theoretical solution of a sensor network will be designed in a real environment, taking into account various services, such as water meters, street lighting management, monitoring of filling and burning of rubbish containers... All this, in the southwest area of the city of Zaragoza. Finally, conclusions will be drawn from the design and protocols used, the strengths and weaknesses of this type of network will be assessed and possible future improvements will be proposed.
