Title: Ciudadanía de la Unión Europea y nacionalidad de los Estados Miembros
Author: Sánchez Calderón, Francisco Alberto
Tutor: Pérez Gurrea, Rosana
Abstract: This dissertation focuses on the concept of European Union citizenship and its legal framework as a toolset for freedom of movement and establishment within the Union. We shall identify the available methods for its acquisition and loss both at individual and collective levels, with their legal outcomes. We shall also analyse the key notes differentiating the citizenship of individual Member States and EU citizenship, as well as how the primacy of European Union law can even influence nationality matters formally reserved to the Member States internal legislation. Finally, we look into the consequences of Brexit and the surge in EU citizenship acquisition schemes set up by some Member Estates in exchange for investments.
