Title: La preservación del legado como fortaleza en la sucesión de la empresa familiar valenciana, y la aportación del asociacionismo
Author: Grande Collado, Carlos

Abstract: Business associationism requires a strategic approach depending on the characteristics of the associates. The thesis examines the structure of a Valencian family business association by extracting information from its members in order to analyse the particularities of the group. The model observes differences between the sample and the data provided by the INE on the overall number of companies. Through two differentiated studies with independent samples, two relevant conclusions are drawn; the greater durability in companies that have acquired a culture of generational transition, and on the other hand we obtain the main factor that helps companies to overcome complex crises. Consequently, these results serve as a roadmap for the Valencian Association of Family Business Studies (IVEFA), to promote a research department and establish objectives with statistical support. Based on both analyses, a triple task is recommended for the association; to cultivate transition planning among family businesses, to demand specific policies from public administrations to help this type of business and finally, to convey a reality about the work of businessmen and businesswomen that breaks the story that has settled in society and that does not do them justice.
