Title: La Botifarra. Joc de cartes de tradició catalana
Author: Triquell Carrillo, Jordi

Abstract: La Botifarra is a card game in Catalan culture mainly played in this Spanish region. Like most of these games, it is fading away and being relegated by newer and more sophisticated ones, especially between the youngest generations. This thesis intends to bring it back, adapted and renewed to our current times with the help of technology. The thesis aims to develop a web application that allows users to create and join Botifarra games in multiple modalities. These modalities are the following: To play online in solo mode against the system’s artificial intelligence. To play online against other players in real-time. Both previous modes at the same time. Each game mode presents its own technical and theoretical challenges, especially those related to the AI system’s computational and algorithmic processes and the networking of online multiplayer games. With all this, it is intended to put into practice all the knowledge acquired during the Software Engineering Degree from the perspective of a videogame, covering all aspects of developing a professional and modern computer application. Going from the project management until the application’s development, test and release, and in between, through infrastructure design and all the continuous integration and deployment pipeline.
