Abstract: | Rural mobility is key to addressing the problem of depopulation. The lack of resources, the aging of the population and the difficulties to make any possible investment profitable force their inhabitants to weave solid transportation networks, both between nearby towns and with their administrative centers of reference. Mutual assistance within these networks has been common practice for decades and today mobile technologies are the necessary ally to generate scalable models that meet the needs of a rural reality that is very diverse in socioeconomic terms. Given the growing interest shown by the administrations and taking as a reference national and international success stories, the aim of this work is, from a people-centered design process, to delve into the needs of the profiles that make up the society of Fontanars dels Alforins (Valencia) and offer a technological solution that benefits their quality of life. To this end, research has been carried out with and without users and, based on the lessons learned, the product has been defined, prototyped and evaluated. In all phases we have worked with users, iterating the design based on the feedback received. |
