Abstract: The initial and permanent teachers training offers little theoretical and practical content so that teachers can promote quality relationships with their students' families. Based on this hypothesis, this study set out to analyse the perception and training needs of teachers, identifying the amount of initial and permanent training received on this subject, and at the same time, what is the current offer in Catalonia. With this aim, a questionnaire was made for active teachers in the city of Barcelona and an interview with a school principal. The results showed the lack of training received and a high perception of the need for training (92% of teachers want more practical training), in addition to identifying which content is most in demand: the management of interviews and family meetings, conflict management and communication skills among others. The data allow us to assess a possible increase in training in this area to meet the needs, also incorporating more training for the psychopedagogy professionals who guide the teachers.
