Title: Características de la teleconsulta de neuropediatría durante la pandemia por Covid-19 en Colombia

Abstract: The World Health Organization (WHO) issued the declaration of a Covid-19 pandemic on March 11, 2020. To prevent contagious by Covid-19 associated with the provision of outpatient health services, it was necessary to close non-essential health services, design a series of recommendations to continue providing health care using ICT as a tool for telemedicine care. In Colombia, telemedicine was applied to provide medical coverage to people in remote areas or areas with difficult access. In order to know the experience of Colombian neuropaediatricians with teleconsultation, a survey was designed to allow an approach to the current situation of neuropaediatric teleconsultation in Colombia. The study population was made up of 65 doctors specializing in pediatric neurology whose clinical practice is carried out in Colombian territory, of which 54 participated by answering and returning the survey sent completed. 100% of the 54 participants responded having attended to their patients through teleconsultation during the Covid-19 pandemic, 87% attended first-time and follow-up patients. The most frequently attended pathology was epilepsy. The continuity of care was affected in 51.9% of the cases. Internet connection failures were the most frequent difficulty in providing medical care and the unavailability of anInternet connection was the barrier to access consultation for 56.4% of patient’s parents and/or child caregivers.
