Author: Bustos Moreno, Tíscar

Abstract: This study addresses the issue of work-life balance through a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative and qualitative techniques. Its objective is to explore the conciliation strategies used by working parents, identify barriers to work-life balance, analyze potential gender differences in work-related anxiety and conciliation, evaluate employees' perception of the effectiveness of conciliation measures, and examine possible differences across sectors. The results highlight the importance of considering gender perspectives in work-life balance, as traditional gender roles and expectations present challenges for both men and women. It was found that women tend to use more conciliation strategies than men, and both genders experience work-related anxiety without significant differences. The personal interviews also revealed the importance of company-implemented strategies, such as flexible working hours, part-time work, telecommuting, and parental leave, in promoting conciliation and addressing work-related anxiety. Based on these findings, it is concluded that there is a need for companies to implement more effective and flexible conciliation measures, allowing workers to balance their family and work responsibilities and improve work-life balance.
