Abstract: Trafficking in human beings brings both harm to its victims and financial benefits to its practitioners. As a subtype of this, we have the trafficking of human beings for the purpose of labor exploitation, a business with evidence, in the XXI century, in which, we are so close to slavery. In this investigation, after clarifying fundamental concepts such as trafficking in human beings and, especially, trafficking in human beings for labor purposes, we will enter into the typification of trafficking crimes and crimes against the rights of workers and how these correlate. Once this initial theoretical framework has been overcome, we will analyze the specific case of the strawberry laborers of Palos de la Frontera. In this sense, we hope with our work, to be contributing to put an end to this scourge that moves in the current world, and knows no borders, happening, right now, very close to us, in a space with European culture, identity and values (such as those of the European Union).
