|The object of the study is to know the degree of relationship between the phenomenology of polivictimization and the gender of adults resident in Catalonia, as well as to explore how the experimentation of early violence (interpersonal aggressions <18 years) affects in terms of establishing the learned defenselessness as an identity construct of the person, and therefore as this process and particularity increase the tendency and probability to suffer cumulative violence in the future (interpersonal aggressions >18 years) in different ecological environments (family, training, work, social relations). The research consists of two instruments that generate quantitative and qualitative data: a questionnaire (51 items, 414 participants) analyzed with Clementine and Excel, and an interview (15 items, 7 female participants polyvictimized) to reflect first-hand the violent experiences experienced by victims/survivors as a vital example of what constitutes (poly)victimization. According to the results obtained, it can be concluded that there is a prevalence of female gender in the phenomenology of polivictimization and that the fact of establishing the construct of helplessness learned to the identity of the person when suffering early violence constitutes a more likely to suffer cumulative violence to different ecological environments as new life stages are achieved. The purpose of the study is to create reliable knowledge on the subject and, due to the average sample, the results and conclusions representative of the Catalan population are taken into account.
