Abstract: | Telecommuting is a form of employment. This term was coined by the American researcher Jack Nilles in 1973, where following an oil crisis he started an investigation to reduce oil consumption in work trips. In recent years this modality has become very important, on the one hand, thanks to the evolution of new communication technologies, and, on the other hand, following the global health crisis of 2020. It was in that moment when the companies, before falling into bankruptcy, decided to apply the modality, telework, everything arose in an immediate and hasty manner, in the vast majority of cases, since this labor option was not contemplated, and the companies they were not prepared to make this leap, where the workers in an admirable way adapted to the new work reality, managing to carry out their work without the appropriate resources. Despite this, teleworking allowed the companies that, due to their type of work, could apply it, to survive the bankruptcy. Once normality has been restored, many companies have decided to continue with this work modality, improving conditions, tools, and applying organizational changes, in a few words changing the philosophy of attendance or changing it to a hybrid form, mitigating psychosocial risks. In this study we wanted to analyze the psychosocial risks arising from teleworking, compared to traditional work where we have learned from mistakes, since there is no significant difference between teleworkers and traditional workers. The fact that we have learned from the mistakes made during the pandemic is evident, managing to carry out the work task satisfactorily in this modality. Despite this, it is necessary to be constantly alert to avoid psychosocial risks, where the company must take care of the health of its workers, and on an individual level the subjects must follow some guidelines to execute the tasks correctly and maintain their physical health and mental. |
