Title: Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC): revisión del sistema y resolución de algoritmos de diseño de forma de onda

Abstract: This project focuses on the integration of radar and communication systems through ISAC systems. The aim of the work is to review ISAC systems through a bibliographic analysis, presenting the motivations for the development of these systems, the most important performance parameters, and the current design possibilities in the literature, among other aspects. In the context of its application, ISAC is presented as a solution to improve spectral and energy efficiency in systems where the coexistence of radar and communications is essential, such as in advanced mobile networks and surveillance systems. The methodology used includes an extensive bibliographic study on ISAC systems, followed by the practical implementation of waveform designs using MATLAB. This approach allows for evaluating the impact of different design parameters on the performance of both radar and communication systems. The results obtained show that it is possible to design waveforms that optimize the use of shared resources, achieving an adequate balance between radar and communications functionalities. Two implemented and compared design algorithms are highlighted, demonstrating the importance of trade-off parameters to maximize joint performance. The conclusions of the work suggest that ISAC offers significant benefits in terms of efficiency and performance. Furthermore, future lines of research are proposed, including the development of more advanced algorithms and the analysis of ISAC receivers to improve interference cancellation and the coordination of shared resources.
