Abstract: This work aims to determine what the professional situation of women in corporate communication is and what their degree of promotion in companies in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector in the province of Barcelona is. The specific objectives of this research are to explore the degree of feminization of the profession in a historically masculinized sector such as ICT, to find out which factors influence the promotion or not of professionals in senior management positions, to survey their degree of personal satisfaction and to know what hierarchical position corporate communication occupies within the structural organization of companies. The methodology uses quantitative and qualitative analysis, based on a comparison with existing data, closed surveys, the analysis of the hierarchical structure of 25 companies belonging to ASEITEC (Associació d'Empreses Tics de Catalunya) and interviews in depth with women professionals in corporate communication in ICT companies, from different positions and profiles. The results show that the degree of promotion of women in leadership positions is wide in positions of departmental responsibility - in the direction of communication -, but decreases in the making of strategic decisions, in the top management, occupied mostly by men.
