Abstract: External disasters in hospital environments present unique challenges, frequently exceeding standard response capabilities and demanding exceptional coordination and management of resources. Given this critical need, the "Alerta" project seeks to develop a mobile application that improves hospital crisis management by optimizing communication and coordination in real time. The main objective of this study is to design a functional prototype of the application, which integrates critical functionalities for effective disaster management. These functionalities include task management, protocol tracking, and centralized communication, all accessible from the hospital staff's mobile devices. The research focuses on the following questions: How can mobile technologies improve disaster management in hospitals? What are the necessary features in an application to ensure an effective and secure response? To answer these questions, a comprehensive literature review and comparative analysis of similar projects were carried out. This preliminary phase allowed us to identify best practices and areas of improvement that the "Alerta" application should address. Subsequently, wireframes were developed based on these findings, followed by usability evaluations using the System of Usability Scales (SUS) to validate the intuitiveness and accessibility of the design. Preliminary results indicate a potential improvement in response times and resource management efficiency during disaster drills. These findings suggest that "Alerta" could significantly strengthen hospital capacity to respond to complex emergencies. The study concludes that the implementation of technological solutions such as "Alerta" is vital to modernize and optimize disaster response in hospitals, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to ensure resilient infrastructure and promote innovation.
