Abstract: This master's thesis explores the relationship between teleworking and the hybrid work model with work-related stress and burnout syndrome. In the current context, characterized by a growing adoption of these work modalities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to analyze how these ways of working influence the mental health and well-being of employees. Through a theoretical and empirical approach, the factors that can mitigate or aggravate these problems are investigated. The literature review reveals that, although teleworking offers advantages such as flexible hours and reduced travel times, it also presents significant challenges, such as social isolation and difficulty in disconnecting from the work environment, which can increase stress and burnout levels. The empirical study is carried out using a quantitative methodology, using standardized instruments to measure stress and burnout in a sample of 103 employees who practice teleworking and the hybrid model. The results indicate that greater autonomy and better adjustment to teleworking are associated with less burnout. On the other hand, greater interdependence and professional isolation are related to greater burnout. In addition, greater professional isolation is associated with less autonomy, and better adjustment to teleworking is related to less professional isolation and greater autonomy. However, moderating factors such as work flexibility and organizational support were also identified, which seem to mitigate the negative effects of teleworking on the psychological well-being of employees.
