La cultura popular catalana en su represenTación en filmes de terror catalanes

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar las películas de terror catalanas desde el punto de vista de la sociología, pues busca encontrar la representación de la cultura catalana en dichos filmes. Se ha usado el análisis de film como herramienta para poder observar y analizar los filmes en busca de la representación de referentes de lugar y de expresiones de la cultura catalana en su puesta en escena audiovisual dentro de las películas seleccionadas. Y con ayuda de la estética posmodernista entender cómo funciona esta representación. Si es un referente, si aparece explícitamente o por el contrario hace una aparición sucinta de representación Se trata de entender cómo en un mundo globalizado puede tener lugar hacer referencia a lugares concretos y atar la obra de arte a un tiempo y espacio determinados. Se presentan así tres películas que han tenido éxito en la taquilla no solo española, sino también global, películas del género de terror que permiten mayor expresividad al no estar sujetas a una crítica de género, pero sí de culto. Estos filmes son “Los sin nombre”, “REC”, “Mientras duermes”, filmes de los directores Jaume Balagueró y Paco Plaza, hechos por catalanes en Cataluña para el mundo entero. La mayor parte de los filmes tiene acción en Barcelona, como capital y centro neurálgico de Cataluña, que es solo una parte de territorio catalán y en definitiva no es la totalidad de la representación de dicha tierra. Es un trabajo limitado en tiempo y en espacio, se limita a una fecha de entrega programada y se limita al espacio catalán, aunque realizado en castellano, se entiende que Cataluña es un país bilingüe y culturalmente rico. Su producción cinematográfica está teniendo importante notoriedad en esta época, y es realmente una producción competitiva y de gran valor cualitativo a la hora de poner en marcha obras audiovisuales que vale la pena estudiar a fondo y comprender este fenómeno. Vaya por delante el presente trabajo que trata de investigar la representación del lugar donde se realiza dicha producción y si hay huellas de lugar como en toda obra de arte o es más un producto dentro del orden global.

The objective of this work is to present Catalan horror films from the point of view of sociology, as it seeks to find the representation of Catalan culture in these films. Film analysis has been used as a tool to observe and analyze the films in search of the representation of place references and expressions of Catalan culture in their audiovisual staging within the selected films. And with the help of postmodernist aesthetics, understand how this representation works. If it is a referent, if it appears explicitly or on the contrary it makes a succinct appearance of representation. It is about understanding how in a globalized world it can take place to refer to specific places and tie the work of art to a specific time and space. Three films are thus presented that have been successful at the box office not only in Spain, but also globally, films in the horror genre that allow for greater expressiveness by not being subject to genre criticism but cult criticism. These films are “Los sin nombre”, “REC”, “While you sleep”, films by directors Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, made by Catalans in Catalonia for the entire world. Most of the films have action in Barcelona, as the capital and nerve center of Catalonia, which is only a part of Catalan territory and is ultimately not the entire representation of said land. It is a work limited in time and space, it is limited to a scheduled delivery date and is limited to the Catalan space, although carried out in Spanish, it is understood that Catalonia is a bilingual and culturally rich country. His film production is having significant notoriety at this time, and it is truly a competitive production and of great qualitative value when it comes to launching audiovisual works that are worth studying in depth and understanding this phenomenon. Let's move on to this work that tries to investigate the representation of the place where said production is carried out and if there are traces of place as in every work of art or if it is more of a product within the global order.
