Title: Explaining the paper: quantum error correction below the surface code threshold
Author: Raigada García, Ricard Santiago
Abstract: On August 28, Google Quantum AI demonstrated a quantum memory system that reduces error rates, showcasing the potential for fault-tolerant quantum computing. I have written a brief article that, while containing some technical jargon for those interested, is crafted in an accessible manner for a general audience. It provides a basic introduction to key concepts and then highlights the main points of the post.
