Abstract: Background. In the last decade there’s been an increase in the diagnosis of ASD, especially in women, because there’s been an exhaustive review of the inherent characteristics related to gender, which show that there is a differentiated exhibition of symptoms and functionality. Despite these advances, there is still few evidence in the literature about the proposal and analysis of differentiated treatments according to those characteristics. Objectives. To report information about the effectiveness of this type of interventions focusing on the differences in the results related to gender. Method.We carry out a systematic review following PRISMA guidelines including data source from Pubmed, Scopus and PsycINFO, excluding for population age >18, lack of gender differentiation in the results and type of treatment. Results: 10 studies are classified and analysed, finding differences in efficacy according to gender in 7 of them, which indicate that behavioural and sensory integration are more effective in boys, while psychoeducation and treatments focused on internalizing symptoms are better in girls. Conclusions. Results are discussed regarding the current literature, and we propose some orientations for future studies focusing on the importance of the gender perspective in the suitability and personalization of these treatments.
