Title: Análisis de posible cáncer de piel mediante IA. Estudio mediante imágenes reales

Abstract: The project focuses on the analysis of medical images, specifically the detection of possible skin cancers to support clinical decision making. This tool aims to improve accuracy and promptness in diagnosis, as well as reduce classification errors. Machine learning algorithms are used to train models that classify images as normal or abnormal. The methodology we will follow is CRISP-DM, which is a standard methodology used in the field of data mining and predictive analysis. Different types of images will be used, including DICOM images, dermatological images, and other image types relevant to medical analysis. We will work in collaboration with Dr. José J. Pereyra Rodríguez from the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville, who will provide us with a set of more than 1,500 images taken of real patients. The main objective is to provide health professionals with an effective and efficient tool to improve the early and accurate detection of tumors, thus reducing the rate of false positives and negatives, and streamlining the diagnostic process. This approach promises a significant positive impact on healthcare by improving accuracy and efficiency in the diagnosis of potentially serious medical conditions. In addition to being able to predict three different skin tones and images taken by a smartphone can be used.
