Abstract: | The Contemporary philosophical and scientific thought subject focuses mainly on philosophical and scientific thinking from the late nineteenth century to the present. We will pay attention to the philosophical and scientific paradigms that articulate this period of history, seeking a dialogue between the different thinkers and schools involved. It will be emphasised the critical relationship with modernity called into question or turned into by new contributions from the different philosophical sides traditionally faced. It will be stressed the vitality of philosophy in relation to our contemporaneity, with our current problems but in relation to the philosophical tradition. We will seek to establish connections within all the history of philosophical and scientific thought as well as within other related theoretical and disciplinary traditions, at the same time will show the social and cultural significance of contemporary philosophy today. |
