Abstract: | This paper presents the experience obtained from creating several art installations that explore the phenomenon of attention using bio-inspired hardware, ie, that involve a technical solution based on autonomous robots whose behaviour imitates certain primary characteristics of living beings: phylogeny, ontogeny, epigenesis and emergence. The initial premises were geared towards creating environments that would foster a present perception that could lead to an extended consciousness. The use of models based on bio-inspired behaviours moreover opened the door to observation of these phenomena in social behaviour, in particular, the concept of emergence, which gave rise to a gaze that ran from the individual to the collective, that is, to the phenomenon of organisation and its social implications. The paper also examines the process behind the POEtic-cubes art installation. |
