Title: Creació de taules d'una base de dades relacional a partir del diagrama de classes d'anàlisi d'UML

Abstract: It is widely known that the only stages in the life cycle of the program that necessarily have to be specified are those of the gathering of requirements and the analysis or specification of the program. The rest (design, implementation and testing) can be generated more or less automatically based on the analysis. In this Final Degree Project project, we studied the viability of the automatic construction of SQL code from UML analysis classes diagrams. The UML Poseidon modeling tool has been extended with a plug-in with which, using a very simple interface, the basic layout of a database can speedily be obtained, including tables, their columns, primary and foreign keys and also the triggers (and the unique keys) necessary to ensure the cardinality restrictions of the associations.
