Abstract: | Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids are considered essential because our body does not have the necessary enzymes to produce them. Therefore, they must be obtained from the diet or synthesized from their precursors. The great importance of omega 3 and 6 during pregnancy, lactation and the early years of life in the formation of the central nervous system, is that they are the most abundant in the brain and adequate intake has been linked with proper growth and development during different stages during the first years of life. |
