Title: Depresión y calidad de vida. La importancia de la atención integral para la recuperación de la persona enferma

Abstract: According to WHO, depression is one of the first three causes of disability by the year 2030. This disorder appears to society as something invisible, but generates a series of needs and consequences in various areas of life of the person and its environment, as well as in the general development of society, demanding, therefore, an integral and complex attention, through the proactive and coordinated participation of different professionals. Given the high prevalence of this mental health problem and the serious consequences it generates, the present study is addressed as a need to know and understand which risk factors influence the onset of depression disorders and what needs are generated by it, As well as in what way and under what premises is being approached by the health system, being able to know what is failing as regards the detection and treatment of depressive disorders in Spain and what is the role of the social health work professional in this scenario raised.
