Abstract: The cultural identity of a people or community, is achieved through a process where communication has a relevant role, this work presents a study about the communication of the cultural heritage itself, that is about the communication of heritage to the cultural community by proximity (geographical and cultural) belongs firstly. Although cultural heritage has a universal character, this particular public has special characteristics that must be taken into account in the development of effective communication strategies. It is about getting the community to feel identified with the heritage and involved in its conservation. The present study points out the elements present in this communication, analyzing the tools or media most used, as well as the most interesting communicative strategies for achieving that goal.
