Abstract: The present work focuses on the reception of the Layetano wine in the first moments of the Roman domination of Menorca, between the end of the II century a.C. and the first century AD, with the purpose of knowing the commercial dynamics existing after the conquest of 123 a.C. and evaluate the changes or continuities in it. This study is indebted to the work of the Menorcan archaeologist J.C. de Nicolás, who has dealt with this issue through the collection of epigraphic marks in Layetania amphoras located on the island. In addition, their hypotheses about the massive arrival of these containers on the island and the greater reception of these in Menorca than in the rest of the Balearic archipelago, are of great interest to deepen the impact of this trade in Menorca. In order to evaluate all this, it will be necessary to review articles, reports and memories of excavation of terrestrial and underwater deposits. In addition, the meeting of all the epigraphic marks collected by Nicolás and the possible location of new ones, will offer us an ordered view of the potteries and zones of the Layetania from where the amphorae that came to Menorca came from. A visual inspection of a little-known site on the island, with Layetan material on its surface, will also form part of the actions planned for the development of this work.
