Abstract: This course is an introduction to fundamental aspects of physics that may be useful to an engineer throughout his career. It deals with fundamental aspects of circuit analysis and electromagnetism, but also provides an introduction to photonics and photonic devices that are set to play a central role in the future of information technology. Physics are the basis of everything that will be studied throughout the degree: the signals do not cease to be electromagnetic waves, the foundations of which are discussed in this course. Thus, Physics I lays the foundation for any course in which play a role electromagnetic waves. This course deals with some applications of mathematical concepts studied in the subjects of "Mathematics I" and "Mathematics II". We may say that the concepts explained are part of the cultural baggage that is expected of any telecommunications engineer, regardless of the branch that has studied, which is a fundamental course for their professional lives.
