Abstract: Project that studies in detail each of the processes to be followed to carry out the development of the definition phase of a computer project. This study has helped us to obtain the necessary knowledge of the different characteristics of these processes. Once the development of the project is completed, we can state that the result we obtain is the need for companies to incorporate a more commercial focus than at present into the definition phase of a computer project. This more commercial focus has been slowly incorporated over the years into the development of projects in general and to the phase that concerns us, the definition phase, in particular. Even though it has been incorporated during this time, the truth is that it is not as widespread or so widely used as we may think. Many companies still do not see it as a necessary and essential step within the definition phase of a computer project. Most of them do not use it as a process to be followed in the definition of all their projects and they continue to think that their objective can be reached without applying this approach.
