Abstract: | This work aims to demonstrate the economic feasibility of designing an autonomous fertigation system in a rural environment that involves the use of an important extension of land. In order to maintain the quality of the crops, a theoretical study is carried out where several sensors are introduced to measure the pH quality of the land, as well as the relative humidity and temperature of the environment. On the other hand it is intended to collect from a central computer and telematically, all these values captured by the sensors. With this information collected, from the central computer we can subsequently send and receive the appropriate signals through the irrigation circuit. To do this, given the difficulty of wiring in rural areas and with the aim of avoiding costs as much as possible, an own base station is introduced using LTE in unlicensed band. Mesh sensor networks that communicate through Zigbee are also used. This implies the use of devices that can understand both network protocols, design the corresponding hardware and source code adaptations and have to face the limitations of wireless networks such as signal loss due to distance attenuations and the obstacles. This design implies being able to perform a validation of the elements used, being interesting the constant monitoring of the system. Finally, an economic valuation is introduced to validate the project carried out. |
