Title: Si no és mentida, serà veritat : Un grapat de metàfores conceptuals en les gloses mallorquines
Author: Salvà Cardell, Margarita
Tutor: Pérez i Brufau, Roger
Abstract: We usually understand that metaphor is part of poetry and is used by poets as a rhetorical figure in great literary works. In recent decades, cognitive linguistics has been captivated by metaphor. From leading researchers such as Lakoff and Johnson and their studies, they have made us see that the metaphor is not only a literary resource, but is part of our daily lives and soaks our language and our thinking. This work aims to publicize the world of Mallorcan glosses by relating them to the theory of conceptual metaphor, analyzing all aspects surrounding this cultural manifestation of the Mallorcan people.
