Abstract: Many educational systems around the world have been adapting to the new needs of the 21st century in recent years. Currently, the Spanish educational system is seeing how its environment is changing and is also immersed in an educational reform, the LOMLOE, which is supposed to be more competence-based than the previous laws. Within this paradigm, this Bachelor's Degree Final Project (BFP) aims to demonstrate how a specific project already applied in the classroom with students of 1st year of 'Bachillerato' would fit into the new curricular framework as a learning situation (SA) or didactic competence unit, so that Second Language Learning is also involved in multidisciplinary projects in which the student must address real needs of the surrounding environment and, if possible, perform a service to the community. To carry out this type of projects, it is essential to know and apply various methodologies (peerlearning, CLIL, World Café, service-learning) that will be analyzed in this BFP, methodologies that help the student to be autonomous, multilingual, supportive, and collaborative, to strengthen their knowledge, applying it to their immediate reality to be trained not only as a future competent worker, but also as an empathetic person with a critical spirit. In addition, a qualitative study of the Cyberscouts classroom practice will be carried out, based on observation and surveys of the young people who benefited from this service. The results will demonstrate that the competency approach, like any other, has its advantages and disadvantages, and that it is not at odds with the cognitive approach, but that both need and complement each other.
