Abstract: The general objectives of this project are to find a solution to renovate an outdated and large infrastructure, inherited to the merger of several companies and provide the resulting high availability infrastructure , reducing maintenance, administration and energy consumption expenses. We compare the best alternatives, both maintaining a traditional structure virtualising it. Finally, the design an solution adapted to the available budget to provide high availability and redundancy against possible failures, and planned all stages of project implementation phases according to the PMI's PMBOK methodology. Chapter 2 provides a state of the art, which will be a general introduction to the techniques of virtualization and high availability, that describes the most important virtualization products available on the market.
