Title: La gestión del conocimiento como apuesta a los procesos de relevo generacional de las empresas familiares

Abstract: In the present paper is going to be exposed the result of an proactive and exploratory exercise, whose objective is to propose a knowledge management model that serves as support to some generational relief process that family business experiment, when there is a change from the founder to the second generation, based on the paper that organizational leaders must accomplish taking into account the strategy value of knowledge for the business and for the family. For that end, and first of all, it´s analyzed the knowledge management, its organizational value and its renovation cycle, then, it´s checked some family business theoretical issues, its relationships between systems and some particulars from generational relief process in these societies in Colombia. The result is a knowledge management which is applicable in generational relief process of family business, around the critical knowledge transference of company leadership.
