Author: Beltrán García, Miriam
Tutor: Ferré Martí, Mireia
Abstract: The field of study of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is of major importance, not only economically but also socially. Any initiative to try to drive forward improved management should begin with a prior analysis of the situation, which will enable a solid basis to be established for designing actions that respond to the needs identified and are adapted to the circumstances. This article aims to provide an assessment based on two principles: understanding the specificities of CSR management in SMEs by analysing three basic aspects: the current situation of CSR management, the main reasons that motivate these organisations to develop initiatives in this field and the most important barriers encountered. Analysing existing tools for managing CSR, including their level of penetration in the business landscape, as well as the opinions of the organisations that currently use them.
