L'educació sentimental del segle XXI: mites i emocions a la saga Crepuscle

Abstract

En aquest article aprofundeixo en alguns dels elements clau de l'educació sentimental -o de l'educació emocional, en un sentit més ampli- que es transmet en un conjunt de pel·lícules que van assolir un gran èxit d'audiència entre el públic adolescent i jove ara fa uns anys: la saga Crepuscle. La tesi que s'hi defensa és que, a nivell mitològic, aquesta saga filmogràfica (així com les novel·les homònimes, que no han estat analitzades aquí) reprodueix un principi clau del teixit mitològic de la contemporaneïtat relatiu al paper de les emocions en l'estructuració de la societat (Illouz, 1997).

In this article, I look into some of the key elements of sentimental education, or emotional education in the broadest sense of the term, that are conveyed through a set of films that were extremely successful and popular among young and adolescent audiences a few years ago: the Twilight saga. The thesis that we put forward here is that, at a mythological level, this cinematographic saga (as well as the novels by the same name, which have not been analysed in this study) recreate a key factor in the mythological fabric of contemporary times in relation to the role of emotions in the structuring of society (Illouz, 1997).
