Abstract: In this paper we will study the case of a patient diagnosed with meningeal syndrome. This syndrome is characterized by the presence of meningitis, accompanied by biochemical alteration of the cerebrospinal fluid and endocranial hypertension syndrome. In patients with bacterial meningitis derived from a contiguous focus, (as the selected patient) the presence of focal neurological damage derived from a subdural empyema due to parenchymal damage is especially likely. The case chosen is a fictitious 29-year-old patient referred to an Acquired Brain Injury center. In the neuropsychological evaluation, important difficulties are observed in attentional, memory, executive and anomy. From the emotional point of view, the presence of apathy, irritability and anosognosia stands out. The neuropsychological intervention proposed is designed based on the results obtained, and consists of 5 weekly sessions (individual and groupal) for approximately 6 months. The general objective is the improvement of the cognitive functions affected, emotional symptoms and behavioral alterations with the aim of increasing the functionality of the patient in his life. The intervention includes: psychoeducation, cognitive stimulation, compensatory deficit strategies, psychotherapy and family intervention. It is expected to obtain a significant improvement at the cognitive level, especially in the areas of attention, working memory and language recovery at its premorbid levels, while, at the emotional and behavioral level, the disappearance of apathetic symptomatology and an improvement in personal autonomy.
