Abstract: The objective of this final master's project is to apply the knowledge acquired throughout the master's degree, in all areas of video game development, to create a video game from scratch. The creation of a survival game has been decided, due to its great popularity and for being a genre not worked during the course, in this way, the student wanted to approach it as a challenge. BrokenLands is a game that takes place at a later time than today, which, after an unknown phenomenon, the world fragments. The player will encounter a fragmented world in which he must survive until he finds a gap that allows him to return to his time. The methodology used for the development of the game has been incremental, creating small versions prior to the final version, in order to gradually add functionalities and mechanics. The result is a complete game, with an attractive visual graphics for the players, that can be executed on low-performance machines, due to its low graphic load. The game consists of three islands as a first level of the game, with complex mechanics such as creating constructions, or player survival. The student has achieved his goals despite the time limitation, offering a robust product, highly tested and enjoyable by all types of players.
