Title: L'educador/a social en l'educació secundària, una necessitat manifesta al País Valencià

Abstract: Today's society is characterized by constant changes and transformations that make technological and social progress possible. A frenetic rhythm, which, in many cases, makes it difficult for people to adapt before the system changes. The 21st century school has not been able to withstand these constant transformations and presents, as a consequence, needs that cannot be met by the educational system. Social Education, as a pedagogical discipline that promotes the insertion of individuals in the social networks that surround them, is therefore an opportunity to respond to these demands and needs presented by the educational system. An experience that has been carried out over the last decades in Spain in very diverse ways, each autonomous region has chosen its own model or mechanism. This plurality in relation to the incorporation of the Social Educator in the educational system has generated a disparity of functions assigned to this professional figure, which must be addressed in order to collectively build a new professional specialization. This fact, therefore, must enable the autonomous regions that do not contemplate this figure, and specifically the País Valencià, to do so and regulate it following the example of the territories that have already legislated it.
