Abstract: The present work deals with the real case of a 69-year-old patient in the diagnostic process after at least 2 years of evolution with cognitive symptoms and mood impairment. A previous neuropsychological evaluation, 1 year ago, concludes the presence of a Mild Cognitive Impairment of the amnesiac type (DCLA) and two diagnoses were recently made: Mild-stage Alzheimer's disease vs. Depressive Syndrome. In the case of Alzheimer's disease, we would be dealing with an insidious onset neurodegenerative disease characterized by the presence of progressive cognitive deterioration, mainly memory loss and psychological and behavioral disorders. In the case of being a Depressive Syndrome with cognitive deficits similar to those of a dementia, we would be facing a Depressive Pseudodementia, a primary psychiatric disorder, generally characterized by a major depressive episode that presents with deterioration of cognitive abilities. In the neuropsychological evaluation carried out, mainly memory and executive disorders, a neuropsychiatric condition in which depression and apathy stand out, and an initial impact on the level of functionality, concluding the presence of a probable Alzheimer's disease. The proposed neuropsychological intervention consists of 2 weekly sessions of 60 minutes duration for 6 months. The general objective is to prevent / delay the progression of cognitive decline, improvement in psychological symptoms and the acquisition of strategies that allow for greater functionality and quality of life. This intervention includes: cognitive stimulation, psychoeducation, deficit compensatory strategies, support therapy and family intervention.
