Author: Castro Cros, Maria de

Abstract: The use of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) during non-work time has produced contradictory effects by increasing the perception of autonomy and flexibility, while boosting interruptions and hampering psychological detachment, variables related to well-being. Through a literature review, five factors are identified in how the ICT use can influence the worker's well-being. It is emphasized the importance of knowing these factors in order to promote an adequate use of the ICT and enhance the benefits of both parts: the worker and the organization.
