Resum:	This paper reports on the first Workshop on Model-Driven Engineering for Design-Runtime Interaction in Complex Systems (also called MDE@DeRun 2018) that took place during the STAF 2018 week. It explains the main objectives, content and results of the event. Based on these, the paper also proposes initial directions to explore for further research in the workshop area.
