Abstract: The health alert situation that we are currently living all over the planet means that we must contemplate effective solutions so that the virus does not continue to spread and so that at the same time, we are able to carry on with our daily tasks and social lives. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one of the basic safety measures against COVID-19 is to maintain a social distance of at least one meter. In the same manner, the Ministry of Health recommends having an interpersonal safety distance of two meters and wearing a mask. This measure is easy to comply with when walking down the street but it is not as feasible when people are indoors. Therefore, a key element to achieve this distance is to establish a capacity limitation in enclosed spaces. In this essay I have created a system capable of controlling the capacity of people in a waiting room of a health centre taking into account the entry and exit of people and, in the event that it reaches its maximum capacity, the system will give an alert informing that no one else is allowed to access the room.
