Author: Gómez Pintor, Javier
Tutor: Plana Jimenez, Ainhoa
Abstract: Trasteco is an innovative business model in Catalonia that combines the storage of objects with the rent of them. The activity will start in the city of Barcelona, the collection and delivery of the objects will always be at home, the objects will be stored in the central warehouse of the company, where it will be responsible for cataloguing them, adding them to the client's virtual closet as well as to the catalogue of rental objects and performing all the logistics derived from the service. In addition, Trasteco will try to work in the most sustainable way possible, carrying out its productive process with recycled materials, optimizing the material resources, participating in social programs in the city by donating 1% of their profits and promoting donations among its clients. Trasteco could be defined as a virtual storage room, which satisfies the same need for space as a classic storage room but with the comfort of a home delivery service, with the total control of the objects stored thanks to the virtual closet and with the possibility of obtaining extra income through the rent of objects to other people, while contributing to protecting the environment and participating in social programs, all without leaving home, with just a few clicks through the website or the App. This final degree project aims to study the viability of this business model, which has been carried out mainly in five stages. In the first one, an analysis of the environment in which the business will be developed will be carried out in order to minimize the associated risks and take advantage of all possible opportunities. To analyse the general environment the PESTEL model has been used and for the specific environment the model of the five forces of Porter. In the second, the valuation proposal is made through the Canvas model, which combines the nine elements of the business model in a logical and coherent way and helps to explain in a simple and graphical way the business strategy. In the third one, the marketing plan is carried out, where the strategies of segmentation, positioning, marketing mix, branding and digital are defined. In the fourth, the resource and operations plan is carried out, defining the production, logistics, material resources and human resources decisions. In the fifth, the financial plan is carried out, which determines the financial strategy based on the decisions that have been taken, the deadlock is calculated to determine the moment from which the company begins to obtain benefits, it is carried out a treasury planning for the first year and a forecast of the balance sheet and the income statement for three years, and some ratios are calculated to determine the economic viability of the project.
