Abstract: The objective of the work has been to carry out a phylogenetic review of the nosZ gene in denitrifying bacteria existing in the NCBI database. For this, in this study, sequences representing the species duly annotated have been downloaded and processed using available bioinformatics tools, a representative sequence of this gene that could be associated with the sequence of interest. This information has been the basis for carrying out two approaches to a phylogenetic analysis. On the one hand, maximum likelihood tools are used from amino acid sequences. On the other hand, an analysis has been carried out by means of Bayesian analysis of a subset of nucleotide sequences for the selected species. From the results obtained, a representative of the groups established in the existing bibliography has been chosen to make a prediction of the protein profile. According to the results obtained, it has been possible to obtain a topology for the phylogeny with a wide range of existing representatives in the public database at the taxonomic level at the species level compared to previous publications.
