Author: Berzal Jiménez, Ana María

Abstract: Social health care for minors is a delicate subject to attend due to the high level of complexity involved in treating a member of a family unit that emotionally influences this nucleus. This work carries out a bibliographic review on the studies that speak about the phenomenon that supposes the loss of health in the minors and how it intervenes with their families. For this reason, we first speak of the terms of health - disease and how this last dimension affects internal family dynamics. Next, the concept of minors is examined, limiting the scope of the term to work with children. It analyzes what the process of loss of health and subsequent hospitalization entails for them, with special emphasis on those who must remain hospitalized as well as the treatment of their pathology. Advancing on the subject, families are explored and what the meaning of the illnesses their children have is for them. Finally, in relation to Health Social Work, its intervention is investigated from the field of specialized care. The latter leads to proposing an intervention through multidisciplinary groups that addresses the demands from a more integrative perspective of the families of the patients in the process of social and health care.
